to the research projects

IBH Living Lab "Active and Assisted Living" (AAL)

The IBH Living Labs research network aims to supply AAL technologies and related human auxilliary services (technology-service combinations) within the cross-border Lake Constance region, which will meet the requirements of the healthcare systems of the different countries and the technical standards of sustainability.

For this purpose, 12 universities and 21 partners from practice in the Lake Constance region will work together to build a stable, interdisciplinary research network which will examine and analyze user, technology, network and market barriers to AAL solutions, and to develop, prepare and partially realize specific measures for the sustainable removal of such barriers.

This process will initially take place within a framework project lasting just over 4 years and including if possible the entire network. During this timeframe smaller research groups will work on projects which look more closely at specific AAL barrier problems which have been identified to realize appropriate measures.
