New mDoE software toolbox for model-based optimisation of biotechnological processes

The development and optimisation of bio-based products is strongly empirical. Design-of-experiments (DoE) methods, which require a large number of time-consuming experiments, are often used for this purpose. The conception, especially the limitation of the parameter space, is difficult and the significance is often limited.

The aim of the project is to offer modular software tools that link DoE strategies with mathematical process models. This will significantly reduce the experimental effort and significantly increase the informative value of a DoE. In the feasibility phase, the software toolbox will be developed and evaluated step by step together with the partners and its performance will be demonstrated using relevant bioeconomic example processes.
