Future afternoon at Furtwangen University
Furtwangen University (HFU) will be hosting an event in the “Future Afternoons” series on Thursday, 28 November, starting at 4.00pm in the auditorium on the Furtwangen Campus. This year, journalist and bestselling author Dr. Franz Alt and Professor Dr. Christof Wittwer, Director of Smartgrids at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems and Hydrogen will be the speakers for the Future Afternoon. In previous years, Professor Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker has been a guest at HFU several times.
Under the heading “Energies for Future Opportunities”, the two speakers will focus on a positive view of the future. Using the example of future-oriented energy infrastructures, the future opportunities from an economic, social and international perspective will be highlighted and discussed.
In addition to HFU students and staff, the public is also welcome to attend the event. The presentations will be followed by a discussion round in which the audience can exchange ideas directly with the speakers. The Future Afternoon is organised by Professor Achim Karduck, HFU Senate Representative for Sustainability, who is particularly interested in the opportunities arising from forward-looking innovations in education, research and innovation transfer.
