HFU Tuttlingen Campus presents study and research projects at the IFC

The first “Show of works” of the Tuttlingen Campus will take place at the IFC - Innovation and Research Center Tuttlingen of Furtwangen University (HFU) on Thursday, 6 June 2024 from 4.00 to 8.00pm. Work will be presented from the Human Factors, Engineering Psychology, Materials Science and Mechatronics and Medical Technology programmes. Industry partners, schools, parents and interested members of the public are all welcome to attend the event. The event is free of charge and does not require registration.

“The aim of the exhibition is to show what is designed, developed and researched on the Tuttlingen Campus within one semester,” explain the two initiators, Professors Dr. Jochen Huber and Dr. Stefan Pfeffer. “The results of the students are fantastic and rarely reach the public. We want to change all that with the exhibition.”

More than 20 student exhibits will be shown at the IFC event.

The show combines a project exhibition from both study and research with a panel discussion “Career paths in dialogue”. Students and start-ups will demonstrate their work in the form of short presentations, pitches and a large poster exhibition. A team from the Tuttlingen Student Research Center (SFZ) will also be there to talk about the “Photovoltaics on fire” project. The highlight of the event will be the popular vote for the best project work by the audience, followed by an awards ceremony. Visitors will also be able to exchange ideas with students, lecturers, the IFC and SFZ teams, start-ups and other exhibitors – and gather information about the study programmes.

The Innovation and Research Center Tuttlingen (IFC) - where visions become reality
“The IFC sees itself as a central interface between science and business. The Show of Works is a great opportunity to bring the exchange between the partners from both sides to life and make it tangible,” explains Professor Dr. Martin Haimerl, Scientific Director of the IFC.

The IFC offers scientists, companies and start-ups access to HFU's research and development facilities. In this way, it promotes the transfer of technology and knowledge between the university and companies, acts as an interface and communication platform, and creates synergies within the framework of cooperation projects.
