There's a lot of good new stuff in the HFU libraries
No, it's not about the legalisation of cannabis, although we certainly do have a lot of good stuff.
Since the beginning of 2024, Furtwangen University has been participating in the newly negotiated DEAL contracts with the scientific publishers Wiley, Springer-Nature and Elsevier. And is thus taking an active role in the process of open access transformation, aiming to make specialist knowledge freely accessible to everyone in the world.
The signed agreements give all HFU members (students, staff and professors) read-only, full-text access to almost the entire journal portfolio of the three renowned publishers with more than 5,000 e-journals.
What we're talking about to be exact is:
- ELSEVIER: 1,850 journals
- SPRINGER NATURE: 1,900 journals
- WILEY: 1,600 journals
