Get a taste of university!

For pupils  interested in studying at Furtwangen University, we are offering a taster programme from 27 to 29 May during the Whitsun break 2024!

For three days, you can immerse yourself in university life on the Furtwangen Campus and Schwenningen Campus and simply try out any degree programmes you like.

The programme is aimed at pupils in year 10 and above.

Programme of safety-related degree programmes at our Faculty of Health, Safety and Society

Have fun with the Security and Safety Engineering degree programme at the taster course.

Sabotage, break-ins, natural disasters, fires or accidents – where do dangers lurk and how can people, the environment and companies be protected from them? Have you always wanted to know what a security engineer does all day long? Immerse yourself in the world of safety experts and spend a day getting a taste of the different areas in which the safety experts made in Furtwangen are trained. Exciting experiments and laboratory tests, informative lectures, a cool team and many other highlights await you at the taster course in the Security and Safety Engineering degree programme on the Furtwangen Campus.

  • 9.00am: Meeting point G Building (Baumannstr. 38, 78120 Furtwangen)
  • 9.10 - 9.45am: Welcome and presentation of the Industrial Engineering and Management degree programme
  • 9.45 - 11.15am: Lecture programme: Materials and manufacturing
  • 11.30am - 1.00pm: Lecture programme: I see what you don't see - eye tracking in marketing
  • 1.00 - 1.45pm: Lunch in the canteen with our student ambassadors
  • 1.45 - 4.15pm: Workshop in the Industrial Solutions Lab: Your digital business card – design and print your own ring with a smart function
  • 4.15 - 4.30pm: Q&A session and conclusion

  • 9.10am: Welcome and presentation of the faculty and the Bachelor's degree programmes on Schwenningen Campus

  • 9.45am: Taster lecture on measurement technology by Prof. Dr. Massimo Kubon (Room G 2.02)
  • 11.15am: Guided tours of the medical technology laboratories
  • 12.15pm: Lunch with students in the canteen
  • 1.00pm: Guided tour of the mechanical engineering laboratories
  • 2.00pm: Selection from various workshop offers

    Air as a drive - experiments in the pneumatics lab

Then come to our taster course and get to know our Applied Biology, Molecular & Technical Medicine and Physician Assistant degree programmes! We'll take you to our lectures, show you our laboratories and answer all your questions about studying with us. And of course we also invite you to lunch in the canteen ;-)
